The first step we take in preserving a document
depends on the paper it is printed on. For some paper no treatment
is required. If the paper being preserved is typical magazine stock
paper, we apply a thin laminate to protect the inks from UV light.
If we are preserving newspaper, we chemically treat the paper to
neutralize the acid present. |
 |
Acid free adhesive is used to affix the documents
being preserved to acid free card stock which is used to provide
a colored canvas for the arrangement of artwork being displayed. |
 |
The final artwork determines the size and shape of the acrylic that
will be used to create the display. The designer will measure the
artwork and customize a computer drawing for our laser to cut the
acrylic that will be used to create the display.
|
 |
The artwork is placed face down into ¼
inch UV resistant acrylic then heat sealed with an industrial laminate. |
 |
The cut and sealed pieces are assembled using
color and hardware options provided by the client. Our designers
will choose the best options to use if the client has no preference. |
 |
The display is securely packaged and includes
care and handling instructions, cotton gloves and the appropriate
hardware to hang the display. |
 |
The package is then shipped according to the
client' s desired shipper and method. If the client has no preference
the package is sent UPS ground which takes typically 3-5 business
days within the Continental US.
